Special needs capital grants
Special Needs Capital Grant for Rent
The Special Needs Capital Grant (SNCG) mechanism aims to provide housing for rent to meet the housing needs for people with particular needs. Projects funded by this grant mechanism must contribute to a local community care strategy and be supported by the relevant statutory bodies.
Applicants may be private developers, including non registered housing associations and trusts, or voluntary organisations. The grant must not exceed 40 per cent of the total costs though some exceptions, in circumstances, can be made to increase above this level the percentage available for voluntary organisations.
The Special Needs Capital Grant is administered through a local network of Scottish Government offices (takes to an external website).
