On Tuesday 31 March 2009 over one hundred people attended the official opening of Magic in the Making exhibition hosted by FACET (Fife Arts and Craft Enterprise Training) in the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes – the display is open until the end of April.  FACET is part of Fife Council’s Social Work Service Fife EmployAbility Team.

This international exhibition includes a set of banners and innovative visual arts and was created by a number of organisations from across the world. Also on display are a collection of works designed and created at FACET by a number of artists, all of whom are affected by disability or mental health issues.

FACET has a range of workshops - joinery, pottery, computing, horticulture and weaving designed to introduce clients to the world of work in addition to building confidence and work shop skills.

Andrew Parry, FACET Manager said: “I am delighted at the fantastic turn out to the opening of this exhibition. We are privileged to be able to host this exhibition and for FACET artists to share their art work with the public. This is a big step for our clients and we, the community, thank them for allowing us to enjoy their unique artistic skills”.

Viewing is during Rothes Halls opening hours and the exhibition runs until 30 April.

FACET is situated in Whitehill Industrial Estate in Glenrothes. FACET and the Fife EmployAbility Team, part of the Social Work Service is one of Scotland’s largest providers of employment services for disabled people and employers.  They provide free, confidential, practical and flexible support to enable disabled people to find and keep employment.
