The prefect team at Kirkcaldy High School, led by Head Boy William Rae and Head Girl Louise Wallace, is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the school. They perform daily duties from ensuring the safe entrance to the refectory for students to doing tasks that the school office has set them. The schools prefects are defined by their yellow braiding on their blazers and their “prefect” badges. The prefects take great pride in being given the opportunity to represent the school in a professional manner and are responsible in ensuring the safe operation of after school events such as parents' evenings and Prizegiving. Those that are appointed to become prefects are enthusiastic to play their part as role models for the younger students and in ensuring Kirkcaldy High School has a safe environment. They tend to be "oustanding ambbassadors" for KHS.
