Fife LGBT Service's Network

Archived news: published on Thursday 01 Jul 2010 by Fife Council

Staff from Fife Council Community Learning & Development (CLD) section, supported by NHS Fife and LGBT Youth Scotland, have recently established a Service’s Network with a focus on developing service provision for Fife’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community. Currently the membership of the group is made up of staff representing LGBT Youth Scotland, Fife Council Services – Education, CLD, Policy & Organisational Support (POS) and Cultural Partnerships, NHS Fife, St Andrew’s University, Community Safety Partnership and the Waverley Care Trust.
The Service’s Network aims to bring together agencies and services that will be engaging with members of Fife’s LGBT community. The Network is looking to develop a Community Forum to directly influence how services are evolving to meet the needs and demands of the LGBT community in Fife. Further information on the Community Forum is available from the LGBT Youth Scotland website –
The Service’s Network will meet 6 times per year and will concentrate on thematic areas of work including Education, Health, Culture and Inter-Faith. To date, the group members have concentrated on the recent IDAHO Day events in Fife and discussing the Fife Council Equality Strategy that has recently been published.
The next meeting of the Service’s Network will be Thursday 26th August 2010 and will include a short input from NHS Fife. If you feel your Service will benefit from being involved with the LGBT Service’s Network, please contact Ross Martin, CLD Team Leader at
