Purpose of consultation

The Scottish Government will be introducing new Zero Waste Regulations soon which will impact on how businesses manage and present their waste for collection.

The Regulations will require businesses to seperate their dry recycling (glass, plastics, cans, paper) so that the different materials can be collected seperately. The regulartions also apply to food waste where appropriate, introducing a landfill ban on organic wastes and a ban on the use of commercial food waste disposal units.

We are currently reviewing our commercial waste services to ensure our customers will be able to meet these new requirements when they are introduced in 2013.
