Rights Respecting Schools

The RRSA is a UNICEF scheme based on the U N Convention of Rights for the Child, which lies at the heart of humanity and at the core of the ethos of schools and communities. It is not only about teaching children about their rights but about reinforcing the universal principles of behaviour and values within their society.
The school gained the level 1 award just before the summer holidays. Bruce Dickinson (UNICEF) and Cathy Bagley (SCCYP) presented the award to the staff and children at the end of term summer service.
Our schools will be undertaking this award scheme, which will align our school ethos and codes of conduct with the collective consensus throughout the planet - as virtually every country in the world has agreed upon the convention.
