Gateside Primary School photo

Gateside Primary School is a two teacher school situated in the rural area of North East Fife, in the village of Gateside.

The school was built in 1877 and has been fully modernised over the years. Today the building combines solid traditional features with modern attributes. The accommodation is spacious and very well maintained.

The outdoor provision is excellent. Children can play safely in the adjoining park area or, on a tarmac surface or in the walled school garden. Pupils are carefully supervised by a member of staff when taken to the play-park area.

Although a small school, a balanced carefully planned curriculum is provided for the children, and parents and staff work closely together to ensure the children receive the best possible standard of education.

The main aim is to educate children such that they succeed and learn in all areas of the curriculum, as well as becoming confident, caring individuals, ready to deal with the next stage in their lives.

The Parent Council works in partnership with the school and also organises special fundraising events.

Excellent links with the wider community are well established and there is a genuine feeling that the school is at the heart of the village of Gateside.

Parents, families and friends of the school are regular and welcome visitors.
