Primary School

Newburgh Primary School is located in the north-east corner of Fife. The town lies just a few hundred metres from Perth & Kinross boundary and is bounded on the north by the River Tay.

The school is housed in 3 buildings plus a separate dining hall. The main building accommodates P4 - P7 and the gym hall while the infant building houses the Nursery and P1, P2 and P3 The non-class contact teacher is currently in the mobile classroom.

There are 7 mainstream classes.

Our aim is to create an ethos where pupils, parents and staff work together in partnership to provide the highest standard of education for all pupils.   Parental involvement is always welcomed, strengthening the relationship between all at Newburgh Primary School.

The Expressive Arts curriculum is enhanced by regular visits from Music, Drama, PE and Art Specialists. Pupils from P4 - P7 are taught to play violin or viola. We have a 0.5 FTE Learning Support Teacher.

Every two years a residential programme at Dalguise Outdoor Centre is offered to P6 & P7 pupils. Extra-curricular classes are held in football, rugby, multi-activity, choir, French and running. Parents run a netball club on a Friday afternoon. A musical show is put on at the local community centre during the years we are not at Dalguise.

We have a very strong Fund - Raising Group. They are very active and organise many successful fundraising events. We have a good Parent Council. Our Pupil Council meets regularly to discuss concerns and issues raised by pupils. We are pleased to meet with parents who wish to discuss any aspects of our school.
